ClearCorrect is a good choice if your teeth are crooked, out of alignment, crowded, or if you have a dental malocclusion (bad bite). ClearCorrect is especially effective if you have a severe overbite, rotated teeth, or excessive gapping. There are many orthodontic treatments to improve the alignment, spacing, and bite of your teeth, but ClearCorrect has additional advantages. The clear aligners make it difficult for others to tell you are wearing orthodontics. The aligners are also removable so they can be taken out when you eat, clean your teeth, and for special occasions. Compared to Invisalign (a similar system of clear, removable aligners), ClearCorrect is made in the United States and is typically less expensive. When you come to our office for a ClearCorrect consultation, we can go through all your orthodontic options and answer all your questions to determine if ClearCorrect is the best method for you.
What to Expect
Once you choose ClearCorrect, we will take digital x-rays of your teeth and jaw and dental impressions that will be used to create your ClearCorrect aligners. Once we receive your aligners, a team member will contact you to schedule a fitting. You can expect to attend follow-up appointments every two weeks. During this time, we will check on your treatment progress and issue replacement aligners as your teeth and bite change. If you lose or damage one of your aligners, just give us a call and we can have replacement aligners made so that you can continue treatment without waiting until your next appointment. Depending on the position of your teeth and the amount of correction needed, your prescribed orthodontic care could last 12 – 24 months (about eight phases of treatment).
You will need to attend regular visits to our practice so that we can check on your progress and make adjustments as needed. It is also very important that you keep your teeth and the ClearCorrect aligners clean so that you do not end up with tooth decay. Brushing your teeth, flossing, and using mouthwash after you take out the aligners is a good habit to start with. You should also rinse or clean the aligners before putting them back in your mouth. You should also store your aligners in their designated protective case during meal times so you do not lose them.
Once your treatment is finished, you may need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth from moving back to their original position. You should continue to schedule annual dental exams at SEDA Dental of Pinecrest so we can monitor your bite, alignment, and overall oral health.
We will go over cost estimates during your initial consultation. We will also tell you about the different payment methods we accept, including low-interest medical financing. If you have dental insurance, a member of our office will contact your provider to determine your benefits and calculate your out-of-pocket costs.
